Today, the National Hydrogen Association released a new report called the "Energy Evolution: An Analysis of Alternative Vehicles and Fuels to 2100." The Energy Evolution shows that a scenario which initially includes a mix of alternative vehicles, and is later dominated by hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles sales is the only way to simultaneously cut U.S. greenhouse gas pollution by 80% below 1990 levels; reach petroleum quasi-independence by mid-century; and eliminate nearly all controllable air pollution by the end of the century. The report also shows that an expansion of hydrogen stations is more affordable than most people think.
First Solar To Supply PV Modules for 1-MW System in Australia View Articles
First Solar Inc. will supply solar photovoltaic (PV) modules to Solar Shop Australia Pty Ltd. for a 1 megawatt (MW) rooftop project. The solar power system, installed on six separate buildings at the Adelaide Showground in South Australia, will be the largest PV installation in the country. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Green Power Partnership issued a revised list of the Top 50 U.S. green power purchasers. The top two purchasers — Intel Corporation and PepsiCo, respectively — retained their positions from last year’s list. Intel purchases more than 1.3 billion kWh of renewable energy per year. Kohl’s Department Stores more than doubled the size of its annual renewable energy purchase, the most significant increase in purchase size among the nation’s top buyers. Kohl’s increased annual purchase represents about 50% of its annual electricity demand. New entrants to the Top 50 list include Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Sony DADC, Motorola, Inc., and Dannon Company Inc. Dannon’s purchase of 100 million kWh of green power represents 100% of its electricity demand.
