Creating the Vanes
The Vanes are made from white 3" PVC cut down the center.
Later, while it was spinning I realized that it was losing air in the middle, so I modded the vanes by adding another section of pvc in the middle. The photos will explain more of what I am saying.
But in future I should have cut the vanes to shape and that will double the cost of the pvc to $75.00. note: I rendered a drawing for you to see how to cut your vanes (PVC).
And A 1/8" hole is drilled at each side and it is .5" from side and 1" away from bottom.
Again you have to alternate the pvc pipes because of the flange end.

Mounting Backets
The mount brackets are 2"x1" permanent cap from hardware store.
I drilled a 1/8" hole around the circumfrance every 2" to give me 8 holes.
I also drilled out 1/2" center hole for the top axle and bottom axle.
Make sure the holes line up, otherwise you will have uneven height for the vanes and that will suck./td>

Centre Bracket Assembly
The center bracket gives you the extra blade area, the firmness and the Cigar shape.
I actually was looking for a 8" one but could not find one fast enough, maybe later, so I used a 9" instead. I simply screwed it in the center of the turbine, again make sure it is in the center other you will get a bad wobble. |
