SUNN Solar Powered Car Kitby Art HainesArt has put together (and now selling kits) to his own homemade electric (and solar powered when needed) car that be driven on US roads with a speed limit of less than 35 MPH. It has a top speed of 25 MPH (40 MPH for three wheeled version) and a range of 20 miles. The great thing about this is it looks like something you can actually do and modify to suit your needs. It is also street legal with windshield wipers, disc brakes, seat belts, turn signals, lights and I'm sure you can add more. Art say's what sets his project apart is the large wheels, low weight and efficient use of power.  Materials: aluminum, styrofoam, wood and ABS plastic. |
